What a fabulous Halloween!

Oh what a wonderful spooktacular Halloween it was. My three little babies had their best Halloween yet. This year all three chose their own costumes so I ended up with a very eclectic crowd. Ariel, Batman and the Little Witch loved dressing up the 6 times,before Halloween, that they got to dress up. That red hair of Ariel's sure got tiresome to spray so we opted not to do it a few of the times. Every time that Batman was supposed to wear his mask, he would take it off...until tonight of course! He strutted down the neighborhood streets wearing that mask like a true professional. The Little Witch is a bit on the short side, so when her bag wasn't dragging on the ground it was tripping her. After one pretty nasty spill she stood up, brushed of her knees and shouted, "Dang it!" I couldn't help but giggle at my expressive little gal. Our neighbor Chad puts on a pretty creepy show every year and you just never know what to expect. This year he truly out did himself with screeching zombies and slithering dead people coming at you from all directions. My three children may be scarred for life. I have never seen them all so frightened before. Chad quickly yelled for the people to "tone it down" and then he removed his masks to show the kids it was just him. I sure hope that they realized that it was fake and the costumes had people in them. I am thinking that this trick truly was a treat for me and all of the other adults who loved to watch the action...does it make me a terrible mom that I thought it was hilarious watching kids run away screaming? After making the rounds, Chadd took the twins home and Avery and I went to Sara's house for their "Haunted Garage." Avery was a little nervous at first but because she knows the people behind these masks very well she was definitely not as frightened as she was at our neigbhor Chad's. Thus ends our 4th Fowble Family Halloween. It is a favorite in our house and I hope that it will continue to be for many more years.

Emma Krumbee's

We went to Emma Krumbee's a few weekends ago with Holly and Allie. The kids just love that Apple Orchard and always have a blast while there. Allie and Avery loved climbing the giant Hay Stack.

One of our favorite activities is heading on the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. Holly, Bennett, Bria, Allie, Avery, Chadd and I bundled up for the long ride out to the field.

There is a man who plays music and invites the kids up on stage to play along. All four of the kids loved jamming to his silly tunes.

Oh Benny Boy!

This is what happens in our house when everyone is supposed to be napping. I am cleaning and all of the sudden I hear a noise above me. The little pitter patter of feet. Possibly a child using the bathroom? Possibly my imagination? No, just Bennett getting into mischief.

Who ever said that makeup was just for girls? This poor boy. I hope that his being constantly surrounded by women will make him a wonderful husband one day! If I had a dollar for every time he got "made up," dressed up in princess clothes, or got his nails painted I would be a wealthy mommy right now!

I lost my sucker!

I had to crack up last night after dinner. The kids all had a sucker and I was cleaning up the kitchen when I notice Avery going back into the Pantry to grab another one. I was on her immediately. I said, "Why are you getting another sucker?" She said "I lost mine somewhere." I was obviously perplexed so when she got her new sucker we all headed upstairs to take a bath when I notice the old sucker, which had taken up residence in Breezy's pony tail!!! We all cracked up...except of course Bria who was miffed!

Season's Change....

The other day we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and visited one of the kids' favorite parks in Shakopee. I got a lot of shots of the kids doing silly things and a few of them with beautiful fall colored backgrounds. We just love the fall in our household. The beautiful colors that the leaves on our trees change to, pumpkin patches, apples, Halloween and carving pumpkins. Our move is just around the corner so we have not "fully" decorated for the season...sniff sniff! It makes me sad to know that this will be our last Holiday in the house that we called home for the past 6 years.

Field Trip

Avery had her first field trip to Cal's Country Market in Savage. She really wanted her Grandma to come with so my mom drove out on Thursday to go along with Avery. They had a lot of fun in the straw maze, petting Animals, and picking pumpkins...Avery said her favorite part was riding on the bus with Grandma, Aubrey and Adriah.

Our First Bee Sting

We had our very first run in with a bee last Tuesday. A bee was on Chadd's shirt and Steve was going to smack it but Chadd turned around and it flew into Bria's face and stung her. My poor baby screamed and screamed. We all felt terrible for her. The next morning her right eye was swollen shut and it continued to swell until mid afternoon. She kept saying, "That bee was a nice guy and he died." Yesterday, we went to Perkins to celebrate putting an offer on a house(which we will close on in Oct.) and it was Kids Eat Free. They had face painting and crafts and cookies and low and behold, Bria chose a Bumble Bee on the exact cheek that she got stung on. I guess there are no hard feelings!

It's Potty Time

I have recently started to potty train the twins. It is a very challenging task as there are two of them. They are 2 & 1/2 years old and I didn't really want to push them into it. We had a long few years with Avery having accidents because she started potty training at 18 months old. Bennett and Bria both tell me when they have to go, although it isn't always consistent and they do have accidents. We have had them in pull ups for a while now and decided this week to start with underwear. Bennett really loves his Thomas the Tank and Lightening McQueen briefs and Breezy adores all panties no matter who/what is on them :) I decided to use their stuffed animals as encouragement in hopes that they will grasp the concept better if they get to "teach" it as well. They both put their pull up's on their animals and then we would take them off and let them go "potty" (while I make a potty sound with my mouth...it was a big hit). It lasted about two times until they both decided to dunk their animals into the toilet and yell, "They pottied in their pull ups!" Great! Hopefully it goes smoother for me than it did for their animals :)
