and...I'm back.

I apologize to all of my faithful readers who have missed me in my unintended absence.  So, to the few of you who have mentioned my MIA status as of late, I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for caring enough to check my blog once a week to see what we have been up to.  Nuff said.

What has been going on in our world???  Well, a whole lot of sickness.  The cold virus of 2011 has hit my family with all that it has got and it has taken us all down.  I have had a fever on and off for two weeks, a nasty cough, headaches and body aches.  It has been the pits.  Avery got it next, then Bria, Bennett and finally Chadd.  I have had to cancel birthday dinners with friends, keep kids out of school and dance and reschedule numerous things that I would have liked to have attended.  Bottom line: Winter Colds Suck!

We have basically sat in our house, watched movie after movie, taken medicine, watched more movies, ate cereal almost every meal, read books, watched more movies and slept.  Hopefully all of us will be on the mend and back to normal by next week.  I wouldn't want the kids to have to miss out on Valentine's Day Celebrations or their own birthday party(fingers crossed)!

One thing that I am very excited about is my new obsession, Zumba.  My girlfriend Gretchen(my Zumba BFF)and I started going to a Zumba class at Lifetime Fitness on Tuesday evenings.  After our first class, we were both hooked.  It is the most fun I have had in a gym class in all of the years that I have been a member at a fitness club.  Our instructor is a girl named Nicole who clearly has a dance background and man can she move.  Not only is her choreography excellent but her music is superb!  We are dancing to "Hot Toddy(Usher),  Pitbulls Bon Bon(Me Speak No Americano), Raise your glass(Pink), Say yeah 3x's(Chris Brown), Shots!(LMFAO and Lil Jon) and then two or three traditional sounding Zumba songs that are fun but the others are much better.

I love the fact that I get to dance like I am 19 and out at the club for an hour and not have to be dressed up!  I get to burn a ton of calories and have a blast doing it.  I swear I am not being paid by anyone to toot zumba's horn, I just love love love it that much.  Apparently, a lot of other women love it as much as I do because last week we had to stand in line a half hour before class started to get a wristband to get into the class.  They counted 150 women a few weeks ago and with the moves that Nicole has us doing, that simply isn't safe for anyone.  I overheard the fitness manager say that they hand out 85 wristbands.  My sister goes to LTF in Woodbury and they have started having the classes in the gym since so many people want to attend it.  I have also recently been told about a nightclub that hosts "Zumba" night.  I think I just may have to check that out.

So, if you ever need something fun to do on a Tuesday evening at 6:30 please come and join my zumba bff and me at LTF Savage...we will be waiting in line to shake it!!!!
