Halloween Festivities

This year was filled with a lot of fun all in honor of my favorite day of the year, Halloween.  We went to the Minnetonka Apple Orchard, The Spooktacular at Lifetime Fitness, Avery dressed up for dance and school, the twins dressed up for school, Aunt Bethany and Uncle Andy came over for a pumpkin carving party and we attended a neighborhood adult Halloween Party.  It was a spooktacular Halloweeny year.

This was the first year we went to Minnetonka Apple Orchard and we all loved it...especially the delicious hot (not mini) doughnuts and the spiced apple cider.  The kids were able to get balloon animals, face painting, go on a hayride, climb the hay mountain, ride the play ground train, climb up a silo and slide down a slide, go in the corn maze, pick pumpkins and apples plus so much more.  It was a really neat place and I will definitely head back there next year.

We are members at Lifetime Fitness and this year they put on a Halloween Spooktacular.  They had the gym filled with a ton of game stations, a bouncy house, a photo booth, a DJ spinning all of the popular tunes, nail painting, cookie decorating, Charlie Brown on the big screen, apple decorating, and a special station where they made you your own cup of mud, dirt and worms...it was delicious!  Avery was feeling under the weather so I took only the twins along with me.  They got to wear their costumes and they had a blast.

Avery dressed up for dance and got to do a candy exchange.  It is always fun to watch the kids dance in their costumes.

Super Girl and Spider Girl...you gotta love it!

Our neighbors hosted a Halloween party for adults only on Friday night.  We had a blast and I just loved some of the adult costumes.

I love carving pumpkins.  Every year we carve with a few other people and this year we were so lucky to have Uncle Andy and Aunt Bethany over for dinner and carving.  We had 7 pumpkins and we all went to town.  This was the first year that the kids actually did all of their own stuff.  It was pretty funny how some of them turned out...ahhh hemmm...Bennett's for instance.  You be the judge!

Halloween was a great day.  The kids all wore costumes to school and were able to exchange candy and goodies.  We hit the road around 6pm and made it until 7:30.  I loved that some of our neighbors were handing out spiced cider for the adults.  There is nothing better than warm apple cider on a brisk fall evening.  The weather was perfect and we all had so much fun.  I hope that your Halloween was as Spooktacular as ours and we look forward to seeing all of your pictures too!
