Yesterday was Back to School Night in our district. The timing was tight as we needed to tour two schools between 4 & 6pm. Since Chadd was coming directly from work, we decided to meet at the Twins' new preschool. Their class is inside of Bluff Creek Elementary School. This will be the first time the twins have been in any type of preschool class and they are very excited.
Their teacher is Miss Anita. She has been teaching for quite a while and even has a set of twins herself. She is very excited to have Bennett and Bria in her class.
The room was all set up and there was plenty to do. My kids absolutely love arts and crafts so they immediately went to the table to start constructing their masterpieces.
Bennett loved the chubby green marker.
Bria grabbed the yellow chubby marker and went to town.
The twins are going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I will drop them off on Tuesdays for 2 1/2 hours and on Thursdays, I will accompany them for parent & child time and then parent education. I have been in some type of parent education since Avery started taking ECFE classes. While I feel like I don't really need to be talking about the same old things that you hear every year(potty training, tantrums, aggression, and what is or is not normal), I am excited for the chance to meet new mom's with kids the same age as mine and hopefully a buddy for Bennett. I have met many wonderful women because of our involvement in ECFE classes and I highly recommend taking them for your child's enrichment, socialization, and lets face it ladies, just to get out of the house and have some adult interaction as well. I am very excited about starting this new chapter in our lives.
Avery. My big girl who is about to be a Kindergartner. I am amazed that this day has come so quickly. We drove up to Victoria Elementary School where Avery will attend all day kindergarten and she exclaimed, "We're Here!" As we walked "Kindergarten Row" we passed the two other classrooms where we happily saw some familiar faces. Avery and her little friend Madi grabbed hands, jumped up and down and squealed in true girl form. It was pretty exciting!
When we walked into Mrs. Fogarty's classroom, we were immediately greeted by Mrs. Fogarty herself. Avery got a little shy but said it was nice to meet her. She showed us Avery's desk and where to put our belongings. I think I may have been more excited than Avery. We found her cubby where she will hang her coat and backpack, we put away supplies and we sharpened pencils. We noticed a neighbor girl and realized that not only will they ride the bus together, but they are desk mates.

Avery spent most of the time in the classroom building, playing restaurant and sharpening pencils. I spent most of it filling out paperwork and wanting to sit down and play school. I am so used to being the one to do new things with Avery...to be with her every step of the way and the realization that this time I can't is finally hitting home. My little girl is going off into the big world of school and all that comes along with it is so out of my control that it is a bit frightening. I know that she will do excellent. She loves school, makes friends easily and she is bound and determined to succeed. I am so excited for her and the new adventure that is about to begin.
As we left, Avery asked Mrs. Fogarty if we could take a picture with her. She said yes of course and Avery was so happy.
Here is to a wonderful school year!

your kids are soooo cute!!!
